Founded in 1870 by Jamie Torres, today the Bodegas Torres is considered to be one of the world’s great wine families producing wines from across Spain, Chile and California. Torres is a member of the Primum Familiae - a collective of the world's finest wine families including Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, Antinori, Pol Roger, Hugel and Tenuta San Guido.
An icon of Spanish fine wine, Mas La Plana showcases the elegance and longevity that Cabernet Sauvignon can achieve in the Penedes. The 2017 vintage presents a classical expression, balancing structure, freshness and depth. The nose is complex and composed, revealing blackcurrant, cassis and ripe blackberry, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite and subtle spice from well-integrated oak. On the palate, the wine is poised and seamless, with fine, structured tannins, vibrant acidity and impressive length, finishing with savoury nuances and mineral precision.
Terroir
Most of the hard work it takes to produce quality wine happens in the vinyard. The soil, the climatic conditions, the aspect, the bodies of water and many more factors, collectively knwon as "terroir" can influence the flavour of wine and give wine distint minerality, depth and character.
