Few grape varieties express their vineyard as transparently as Riesling, and the Lieu-Dit 'Buehl' is a remarkable example of that philosophy. Sourced from a single hillside vineyard in northern Alsace, this wine is shaped by ancient blue schist soils, which impart an unmistakable mineral character and a sense of energy that runs from the first sip to the last.
The 2021 vintage is captivating, opening with aromas of lime zest, white peach and citrus blossom, followed by subtle notes of wet stone, white flowers and delicate spice. The palate is beautifully focused, balancing vibrant acidity with impressive texture, while the long, saline finish leaves a lasting impression of purity and finesse.
Terroir
Most of the hard work it takes to produce quality wine happens in the vinyard. The soil, the climatic conditions, the aspect, the bodies of water and many more factors, collectively knwon as "terroir" can influence the flavour of wine and give wine distint minerality, depth and character.
