A classic expression of Châteauneuf-du-Pape from one of the Rhône Valley’s most respected producers, the 2020 vintage from E. Guigal delivers generosity, and unmistakable southern Rhône character.
The nose is warm and inviting, opening with ripe red and black fruits, like cherry, raspberry and plum, layered with notes of garrigue, liquorice, spice and subtle earthy complexity. On the palate, the wine is rich and supple, with rounded tannins, excellent freshness and impressive depth, carrying through to a long, savoury finish.
Terroir
Most of the hard work it takes to produce quality wine happens in the vinyard. The soil, the climatic conditions, the aspect, the bodies of water and many more factors, collectively knwon as "terroir" can influence the flavour of wine and give wine distint minerality, depth and character.
