Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese 2022

The famous Saar estate has been in the hands of the Muller family since 1797 and they currently own just over 8 hectares of the stellar Scharzhofberg vinyeard, the Saar's most qualified contender for the title of "great growth".

Egon Muller's single vineyard holding is dominated by Riesling through a small patch is planted to other varieties and he consistently produces wines of incredible purity, line and detail from the slate soils of the famous vineyard.

The 2022 Spätlese is very elegant and pure, showcasing gentle notes of stone fruit, citrus and florals. The finish seems endless carried through with a touch of sweetness balanced with vibrant acidity and slate minerality. Spätlese does not get better than this.
